Driver assistance and Connectivity of the BMW iX3.
The BMW iX3 leads the way. State-of-the-art driver assistance systems such as the Driving Assistant Professional fitted as standard support you with partial automation in every driving situation. Thanks to Surround View together with the Parking and Reversing Assistant, the Parking Assistant Plus makes parking and manoeuvring a walk in the park. The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant remains at your side as the ultimate vehicle expert. It provides you with details on the status of your vehicle, tips on how to drive in the most efficient way and allows you to control a wide range of interior functions quite simply with your voice, while innovative entertainment functions such as the smartphone integration with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay entertain and inform you. The digital services of Connected Charging keep you updated on the current battery charge level and the nearest charging option during your journey. You can manage the charging operation at all times and thus enjoy a carefree and relaxed drive with your BMW iX3. In addition, your route planning becomes easier because charging stops are automatically included and you receive additional information on charging stations as well as interesting POIs in the vicinity, thus allowing you to make the most of your charging stop in a cafe, for example.
Parking Assistant Plus.
Parking Assistant Plus makes parking and manoeuvring the vehicle easier. It features among others the Surround View system including Top View, Panorama View, Remote View 3D , as well as a lateral parking aid, the emergency braking function Active Park Distance Control, Parking Assistant with longitudinal and lateral guidance and Reversing Assistant.
Driving Assistant Professional.
Driving Assistant Professional offers optimum comfort and safety during critical or monotonous traffic situations. Apart from the contents of the Driving Assistant, it also includes Steering and Lane Control Assistant with extended functions, Lane Change and Emergency Stop Assistant and Lane Keeping Assistant with active side collision protection.
Assisted Driving View.
The Assisted Driving View provides real-time information on the vehicle surroundings collected by various assistance systems. Thanks to an animated 3D display in the instrument cluster, you can clearly see how your vehicle perceives the current traffic situation and thus understand how the systems work.
Steering and Lane Control Assistant with extended functions.
The Steering and Lane Control Assistant with extended functions can be activated to support you in monotonous traffic situations. It helps you to keep the vehicle in the centre of its lane, assists you in narrow places and, with active route guidance, makes navigation on motorways easier.
Performance
Drive train and chassis technologies of the BMW iX3 at a glance.
The BMW iX3 primarily owes its special driving dynamics and efficient performance to BMW eDrive technology of the fifth generation. The electric drive unit comprising electric motor, transmission and power electronics is designed for maximum efficiency and sheer driving pleasure. The high-voltage battery with specially developed lithium-ion cells powers the electric motor. The direct drive delivers the maximum torque from a standing start and enables spontaneous and uninterrupted acceleration. In combination with the Adaptive suspension, which adapts the damper characteristics to the respective driving situation, supreme comfort and precise driving dynamics are guaranteed on all routes. In this way, the BMW iX3 offers perfect interaction between efficiency, performance and self-assured tranquillity. At the same time, exceptional design highlights in BMW i Blue and future-oriented technologies such as the optional 20″ aerodynamic wheels or the iconic sound design underline the exclusivity of the vehicle. The optional BMW kidney grille of the BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line with extended features together with window frames and roof railing in black high-gloss allow you to further emphasise the dynamics. Every journey with the BMW iX3 thus becomes an electrifying adventure.
Electric drive train.
The highly integrated drive unit combines electric motor, transmission and power electronics in an aluminium housing, saving space and weight. The direct, spontaneous implementation of acceleration requests ensures the typical BMW driving pleasure. By managing without rare earths, the electric motor is particularly sustainable.
Recuperation system.
The recuperation system converts the kinetic energy generated during deceleration and braking into electricity and feeds this into the drive's high-voltage battery to increase the range. The adjustability of the recuperation level in four stages enables increased individualisation and a significant gain in comfort.
High-voltage battery.
The high-voltage battery with specially developed lithium-ion storage cells powers the electric motor and is integrated into the undercarriage in a crash-resistant manner. It can be charged at a household socket, BMW Wallbox or public charging stations. The battery management system ensures efficient charging processes and optimum drive power.

The values of fuel consumptions, CO2 emissions and energy consumptions shown were determined according to the European Regulation (EC) 715/2007 in the version applicable at the time of type approval. The figures refer to a vehicle with basic configuration in Germany and the range shown considers optional equipment and the different size of wheels and tires available on the selected model.
The CO2 efficiency specifications are determined according to Directive 1999/94/EC and the European Regulation in its current version applicable. The values shown are based on the fuel consumption, CO2 values and energy consumptions according to the NEDC cycle for the classification.
When charging times are shown they can be affected by a number of factors such as type of charger, voltage supplied to the charger/car and type of current (AC or DC) supplied to the charger/car. The car also plays a role in charging times as it can be set by the driver to accept various different amperage and should preconditioning be used to heat or cool the vehicle while charging this will also affect the charging time.
The basis for the calculation of the charging times for 100 km range is the electric consumption of the vehicle based on the use of a high-Powered Charging station (HPC) or charging type and current as indicted in the literature above. The testing procedure measures are based on a 23 degrees Celsius battery start and ambient temperature with certification values excluding additional auxiliary consuming devices and systems within the vehicle such as seat heating, displays, air conditioning.
Individual consumption (fuel economy) may differ due to driving profile, vehicle load profile, auxiliary consumer usage, temperature, and ambient conditions. Consumption is based on WLTP or NEDC (whichever is indicated) best case conditions and is independently tested for BMW Group. If you are comparing this range with other models or brands make sure they are stating the same WLTP or NEDC testing regime. These results can be used to compare vehicles on a close to “like for like” basis but are unlikely to be achieved in real world conditions for reasons including temperature variation, driving conditions and the use of the auxiliary systems referred to above.
